You’re Nicer to ChatGPT Than Your Own Mother (Here’s Why That’s a Problem)

We type “k” to our best friends and “AI” to essays. That swap is costing you more than you think.

Read time: 2.5 minutes

If you've recently proofread a message for a bot but have ghosted your friend, this is for you.

You sent “awesome” to coworkers and received silence from your family…

But to ChatGPT, you've promised to write a book to express your gratitude. The gap is not negligible… it’s something you should worry about.

5 Micro-Skills That Take 10 Seconds (And Fix How You Text Forever)

1. Three-Second Rule
Stop typing “k”. Think if you’d send that to a human. If not, add something nice; e.g., “Thank you, I got that.” Now you’re able to send a decent text.

2. Copy and Paste from Bot to Human
You treat a bot/AI/machine nicely when you thank them. When you thank them, copy the text and send it to someone you know. Change the name, and it will be a freakin’ awesome emotional text.

3. One Extra Word to Family
Family assumes they'll hear from you forever, even when you text them the same way you'd text a stranger.
Change “Sounds good” to “That sounds perfect, Dad.” and you now have a different message and a great relationship.

4. Four Seconds of Voice Message
Don't have enough time to text? Record a voice message for four seconds, and the tone will overwhelm the message. For example, if you mumble, “Bye, I love you,” the text won't mean a thing; but when you say, “I love you, bye,” it will mean everything.

5. One Gratitude Toward Human Daily

If you say something nice to the AI/ChatGPT, say it to a human instead. Everyone is human, and there’s no comparison between the AI and your human side.

💡Key Takeaway:

How you speak to AI also reflects how you wish others would communicate with you.
