Why ‘I’ll Just Ask ChatGPT’ Might Be Making You Think Less (And You Don’t Even Notice)
Is AI making you smarter... or just faster at skipping thinking?

Read time: 2.5 minutes
The awkward reality: Artificial intelligence does not end intelligent thought, but overdependencies do.
Brain: "Think it through."
You: "Just ask ChatGPT!"
An answer comes, appears good, done.... no questioning, no refining, no second thoughts.
Somebody else uses AI but challenges it, improves it, and creates a new creation from it.
Same tool, different results.
How to Use AI Without Losing Your Mind?
1. Think and Then Ask for Help
Don't let others do your thinking for you.
• Write your answer down first, the best you can.
• Let AI help you polish it.
2. Challenge What You Get
Just because it's OK doesn't mean it's right.
• What is missing about this, or what did I get wrong?
• Make it better, don't just go with it.
3. Use AI To Make You Better, Not To Replace You
Use AI to give you speed and time.
• The goal is to use AI to improve what you have done, not to take shortcuts or get answers quickly.
4. Create a Learning System
Learning comes from doing the same thing multiple times.
• Look at the differences between what you've created and what the AI has created.
• Find a place where you can make improvements to your work.
5. Maintain Control Over Your Own Decisions
AI will offer you an answer, but the final decision is yours.
• You will be the one who will make the final choice of the answer.
• You are the only one who can make the judgment.
💡Key Takeaway:
AI is not designed to function in place of your brain, but it certainly may cause you to stop thinking.
