Why “Going All In” Is Actually Ruining Your Consistency (And No One Tells You This)
Burnout cycles feel productive... until they quietly destroy momentum.

Read time: 2.5 minutes
The truth many people try to ignore is that intensity does not equal consistency. This is one of the main reasons people feel they are getting stuck in their progress.
On Monday, you kick off with a lot of intensity. You work tirelessly, motivated, and practically unstoppable until the end of the day.
By Thursday, though, you hit a wall... energy is gone, motivation levels have plummeted, and progress seems nonexistent. The cycle continues the following week, and again, it seems you’ve put a great effort into making progress, but your results simply do not accumulate like those of others who do less on a daily basis than you do.
Establishing a consistent habit without overworking yourself?
1. Don't Sprint All Week
'All-In' can't last
• Change out your 'high intensity' for something you can do on a regular basis
• Think of what you can do each day rather than just once in a while
2. Set Lower Goals (Intentionally)
Setting your standard too high will stop you in your tracks
• Find ways to set minimum repetition (e.g, 30 mins. a day).
• Consistency > Perfection
3. Count Streaks, Not High Points
Big, single days don't count
• Count how many times you actually show up
• Don't count 'big/hero' days
4. Build Routines Based on Energy, Not Motivation
Motivation is not always there
• Make your daily routine even work when energy levels are low
• Make fewer decisions on what to do
5. Think of Composing vs Work
Progress isn't always a straight line
• Small actions done each day consistently will usually generate many larger results
• Stay in the game!
💡Key Takeaway:
While both burnout and consistency appear to be effort-based, only consistency creates results.
