5 Brutal Truths About AI That Most People Are Ignoring (And Paying For Later)

If your work still looks the same as last year... this will sting.

Read time: 2.5 minutes

The unfortunate truth is: AI is not changing the playing field... it’s simply exposing who has not been playing.

Two people doing the same job. Same hours. Same deadlines.

One of them starts using AI without announcing it, drafting faster, analyzing more deeply & presenting better ideas. Just a few short weeks after using AI, this person's output doubles, and within a few months, they are leading projects.

The other person sticks to the “way things have always been done”. Works hard, puts in long hours... but now the work refers to them as slow, average or replaceable.

No one tells anyone that this is happening. There’s no memo. No one says anything.

But one day, it can’t be avoided, and an impossibly large gap starts appearing between the two of them. It has nothing to do with either of their talents. It has everything to do with leverage & right now that gap is widening at an incredible rate.

Ways to Remain Ahead (Before the Gap Becomes Permanent)

1. Multiply, Do Not Compete.
Use AI to increase your output (2x to 5x) in research, writing, ideation, etc., without having to manually compete with others.

2. Move Up the Value Ladder.
Stop focusing on execution only, & develop skills around:
• Problem Framing
• Decision Making
• Strategy

3. Create Your AI Stack.
Build simple workflows (e.g., draft, refine, analyze, present) with AI. Use AI like you use your operating system every day, not just once.

4. Optimize for Impact, and Not Effort.
Change your way of thinking from asking "how long did it take?" to asking "what value did it produce?"

5. Make AI Part of Your Daily Habits.
Even 20 minutes/day will give you a massive advantage over time than you think.

💡Key Takeaway:

You are safe from AI taking over your job... however, someone who takes advantage of AI can take your job if you're not using it.
